Special delivery best describes our obstetrics program at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center. The arrival of a new family member is regarded with the level of thoughtful, compassionate care deserving of one of life’s most blessed events. Upon admittance, the hospital offers labor rooms in a home-like, relaxing environment. New mothers can labor, deliver, and recover in one of the birthing rooms designed to enhance the birth experience. Behind the scenes, advanced fetal and maternal monitoring equipment checks the condition of both mother and infant throughout the birth process, ensuring health and safety.

Mineral Area Regional Medical Center is First in the state of Missouri with our new physician monitoring technology

Rest Easy, Mom. Your Doctor Will Be There From Anywhere With AirStrip OB™

We are pleased to announce that your labor and delivery physician is now using cutting-edge technology to keep a closer eye on you and your baby than ever before. This innovative monitoring system is called AirStrip OB.

View the recent KFVS broadcast featuring this new technology at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center.

AirStrip OB adds an extra layer of security and comfort for you. The way AirStrip OB works is simple. Your doctor is able to monitor the current vital signs of both you and your baby from virtually anywhere, at anytime, using only a smartphone. The information your doctor sees is the same data that appears on the monitoring system in your room – including your contraction patterns, your baby’s heart rate, and the nurse’s notes, among other data.

This technology ensures that when your doctor is not at your bedside, the concern for your care and well-being always remains at the forefront. AirStrip OB is in no way intended to replace the doctor’s personal interaction with you. In fact, this tool helps improve communication among your caregivers and ensures that your doctor has the most current information about your condition accessible at a moment’s notice.

Your privacy is fully protected as well. AirStrip OB is federally cleared and fully compliant with the federal government’s privacy regulations.

We are using this technology because we are committed to making your birthing experience as positive and worry-free as possible. With the latest medical technology a highly skilled medical team and a comfortable labor delivery and recovery room, we’re working to make your delivery experience the safest and best it can be. If you have any questions about AirStrip OB, please speak with your physician. Digital Mammography

Everyday, we learn more about breast cancer and how to win the battle. One fact is very clear-early detection is a distinct advantage. Fortunately, breast cancer is highly detectable through digital mammography screening. If breast cancer is detected early, the five-year survival rate is 97 percent. The earlier it’s treated, the better your chance of survival.

Why Digital

A digital system transfers image to a computer so they can be electronically enhanced. The doctor can zoom in, magnify and optimize different parts of the breast tissue using just four standard pictures. And special software allows the physician to view the entire breast on one image.

Our Digital Mammography system is also equipped with a Stereotactic Interventional device. After a suspicious area is identified on the diagnostic mammogram, the physician can perform a biopsy procedure in the same office where the mammogram took place. With the use of a computer, exact location of a breast mass is pinpointed, and x-rays are then taken from two different angles and tissues samples are taken. Outstanding image quality is critical to breast biopsy procedures and this Interventional system offers excellent visibility for clinical confidence. It is an efficient and effective way to provide an accurate diagnosis as quickly as possible.

Patient Benefits for Digital Mammography

  • Faster Exams
  • Improved Patient Comfort
  • Sharper and Clearer Images
  • Decreased Radiation
  • Decrease in Cell Backs for Additional Views
  • Quicker Results

Early detection can save your life. Take a moment for yourself and schedule your mammogram today. Call 573-756-4581 to schedule your mammogram.

Mammography Quality Standards Act and Program
