Behavioral Health Center
Mineral Area Regional Behavioral Health Center at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington, Missouri is a 10 bed geriatric unit for people 55 years and older and a 10 bed adult unit for ages 18-54. Our program offers psychiatric treatment in a secure structured environment.
The Center offers comprehensive assessment, individualizing treatment planning, and a full continuum of behavior health services. Designed for patients and their families, this inpatient program is provided in a confidential, comfortable, and caring setting for mental health care.
Families are an integral part of the treatment plan. The Behavioral Health Center will provide support, education, and practical solutions to help face the struggles of the aging process. Customized treatment is delivered by a caring and experienced multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurses, nurse technicians, social workers, and activity coordinators.

- Anxiety
- Forgetfulness
- Depression
- Mood or Behavior Changes
- Sleeping and Eating Disturbance
- Disorientation
- Confusion
- Severe Memory Loss
- Combative Behavior
Mineral Area Behavioral Health Center strives to assist the patient to reach their goal to return to their highest level of functioning and to return home as soon as possible. Treatment involves stabilizing the crisis that led to the hospitalization. Staff provides a thorough evaluation, developing a treatment plan and coordinating care in a supportive environment that provides 24 hour care and complete confidentiality.
Board-certified psychiatrists and a team of nurses, social workers, and other health care professionals will provide:
- 24-hour Behavioral Health Monitoring and Supervision
- Behavioral Health Diagnostic Assessment and Evaluation
- Medication Stabilization and Management
- Individual and Group Therapy
- Recreational Therapy
- Family Therapy
- Patient and Family Education
- Discharge and Aftercare Planning
